In Greene County district court Amanda Nicole Christensen, 21, of Fort Dodge was granted a deferred judgment Jan. 20 and placed on informal probation for one year after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated (OWI)-first offense. She must pay a civil penalty of $1,250; half will be waived if she obtains a temporary restricted license. She must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense, and she must complete a community college drinking driver’s school, also at her own expense. Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignments as follows: Stephen Patrick Genovese III, 26, of Des Moines, criminal mischief-fourth degree, going armed with intent, and possession of marijuana-second offense; Tyler Anthony Kokenge, 33, of Grand Junction, OWI-first offense and possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver; Berry Arthur Downs, 20, of Ames, ongoing criminal conduct, criminal mischief-second degree, possession of marijuana, theft-fourth degree, theft-third degree (two counts), theft-second degree (four counts), burglary-third degree (five counts), and possession of methamphetamine; Sarah Rochelle Carlson, 26, of Early, OWI-third offense, false report of indictable offense to public entity; Lisa Nicole Pierce, 35, of Carroll, possession of marijuana-third or subsequent offense; and Davy Delane Cooklin, 42, of Paton, OWI-first offense. No trial date was set for Kokenge. A trial date was set for March 3 for Downs, and for April 7 for Genevese, Carlson, Pierce and Cooklin.
